'Les Miserables' wins Cinema Audio Society Award

As our odds predicted, "Les Miserables" won the prize for Best Sound Mixing bestowed by the Cinema Audio Society. After previously snagging the equivalent award last week at BAFTA, it seems like a shoo-in to reap the Oscar next, especially given voters' notorious love of musicals in that category.

Indeed, 18 of our 21 experts, six of our eight editors and three-quarters of our users predict it to prevail for Best Sound Mixing at the Oscars. That overwhelming support gives it odds of 13/8.

"Brave" pulled off an upset in the inaugural race for sound mixing in an animated feature edging out frontrunner "Wreck-It Ralph."
