Claire Danes has never lost at the Golden Globes. She has prevailed in all four of her bids -- Best TV Drama Actress for "My So-Called Life" in 1994, Best TV Movie/Mini Actress for "Temple Grandin" in 2010, and TV Drama Actress twice more for "Homeland" in 2011 and 2012.
And, according to more than two-thirds of our users, she can expect to claim a fifth trophy next January for her role as a troubled CIA agent. That support gives her leading odds of 21 to 10.
But our editors disagree with this general consensus. Six out of seven think Kerry Washington will win for playing a D.C. spin doctor on "Scandal," which is enough to place her second with overall odds of 13 to 5.
There is a fierce battle brewing for the last three slots between four women, all from debuting series. That's no surprise: unlike the Emmys, which are prone to repeat winners, the Golden Globes usually like to be the first to embrace the year's hot new shows.
Tatiana Maslany is in fourth place at 10 to 1 for her multiple roles on the sci-fi drama "Orphan Black." She was a darling of critics this summer, winning awards from the Critics' Choice and TCA Awards, though she was snubbed by Emmy voters.
