Lee won Oscars for Best Director ("Brokeback Mountain," 2005) and Best Foreign Language Film ("Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," 2000) and was also nominated for helming the latter.
His directing credits include "Flirting with Disaster," "Three Kings," and "I Heart Huckabees." He has one previous Oscar nomination, for directing "The Fighter."
Haneke's previous films include "Cache" and "Funny Games" and "The White Ribbon" which was an Oscar nominee for Best Foreign Language Film in 2009.
"Beasts of the Southern Wild" is the feature directing debut of Benh Zeitlin. He has no previous Oscar nominations.
