With just 90 voters, the Globes can be counted for a surprise or two every year. And with separate races for dramas and comedies/musicals, there are more opportunities to award Oscar longshots.
Jessica Chastain ("Zero Dark Thirty") and Jennifer Lawrence ("Silver Linings Playbook") are the frontrunners for the Best Actress Oscar. They compete in separate categories here and will probably both win. However, first-time nominee Naomi Watts could pull off an upset in Best Drama Actress with her powerful performance in "The Impossible" as a mother fighting to save the lives of her family and herself after a devastating tsunami.
