While nominations for the 24th annual Kids' Choice Awards included a slew of first-time contenders, many of the winners announced Saturday night were returning favorites. A record 200 million ballots were cast online for the Kids' Choice Awards.
Reigning two-time Favorite TV Series champ "iCarly" won for a third time against "The Suite Life on Deck" and "Wizards of Waverly Place" and newcomer "Big Time Rush." That last entry, a Nickelodeon hit, also vied for Favorite Music Group but lost to Black Eyed Peas as did Jonas Brothers and another first-time nominee Lady Antebellum.
For the third year in a row, Favorite TV Stars were Selena Gomez ("Wizards of Waverly Place") and Dylan Sprouse ("The Suite Life on Deck") who once again beat his brother Cole.
Favorite Movie Stars were Johnny Depp ("Alice in Wonderland"), who now has a bookend for his 2008 win for "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End," and Miley Cyrus ("The Last Song") who already has three wins for the film and TV versions of "Hannah Montana."
Rosario Dawson presented former KCA host and winner Justin Timberlake with the Big Help Award in recognition of his ongoing charitable work with Shriners Hospitals for Children. On a much lighter note, Josh Duhamel was the first inductee into the Arm Fart Hall of Fame as voted by viewers during the telecast.
For the third time, Jack Black hosted this raucous awardsfest. The festivites from USC's Galen Center aired on Nickelodeon. Among those who were welcomed with a cascade of green slime were Jim Carrey, Heidi Klum, Jason Segel and Snoop Dog.
