Usually when you win an Emmy, you're automatically a shoo-in for a nomination the following year. Kyra Sedgwick won the Best Drama Actress race last year for "The Closer" after four previous bids and her work this year on the series was just as good as ever before. So what happened? Why was she snubbed? With "The Closer" now in its seventh season, this could be the case of Emmy voters choosing to move on to hipper, younger series such as "Harry's Law" (Kathy Bates was nominated) or "The Killing" (Mireille Enos received a bid). Or perhaps voters simply felt that Sedgwick hit her peak last year.
