Barry Sloane Q&A: ‘Six’
During our recent webcam chat (watch the exclusive video above), actor Barry Sloane reveals that while undergoing rigorous boot camp training for his show “Six,” the cast formed a bond, “unlike anything I’ve experienced before, in any walk of life to be honest. It kind of surpassed the show and became much more of a growth thing outside of anything.” Sloane stars in this History Channel series as Joe “Bear” Graves, a member of Navy SEAL Team Six who discovers an American citizen working with the Taliban in Afghanistan.
The cast trained for their roles at SEALFIT in Encinitas, CA. “It’s kind of like a SEAL prep school,” Sloane explains. “You go there to see if you can do what these guys do.” While he admits, “you have to be a certain physical capacity for the role,” the training at SEALFIT “was more of a mental drilling and education, and bonding with the guys on the team.” The ensemble cast includes Walton Goggins, Kyle Schmid, Juan Pablo Raba, Edwin Hodge, Brianne Davis, Nadine Velazquez, and Dominic Adams.
Before his casting in this first-year program, Sloane has featured prominently in such shows as “Hollyoaks,” “Revenge,” and “Longmire.” The native of Liverpool, England also co-starred in the film “Noah” with lead Russell Crowe and directed by Darren Aronofsky.
