Emmys 2014 Slugfest: Drama Categories
Gold Derby editors really come out swinging over their clashing Emmy predictions in the top drama series races: Tom O’Neil and Marcus Dixon plus contributing editors Riley Chow and Charles Bright. Dixon and Chow say “Breaking Bad” is ahead to win Best Drama Series, but Bright scoots out onto a thin, shakey limb for “The Good Wife” (“I haven’t fallen off yet!” he crows).
The punidts are also divided over Best Drama Actor — Bryan Cranston (“Breaking Bad”) vs. Matthew McConaughey (“True Detective“) — and they have an intriguing disagreement over Best Drama Actress. While all four have Robin Wright (“House of Cards“) out front to snag the prize, O’Neil warns that Tatiana Maslany (“Orphan Black“) is within striking distance despite the fact that Dixon and Chow rank her in last place out of six likely nominees and Bright doesn’t even foresee her in the mix.
