Justin Timberlake tells Gold Derby that he doesn’t believe the character he portrays in “The Social Network” – Napster founder Sean Parker – is a rascal even though Parker became widely known as the chief conduit of illegal music downloading.
Parker’s jaunty, devilish reputation is really “a bigger-than-life persona he wears as a mask,” Justin adds. “It was a delicious character to play. I think he could’ve created Itunes, which everyone views as one of the saving parts to music and the internet as far as bridging the gap.”
What does Justin think of all the Oscar buzz surrounding “The Social Network”? “It’s nice to know that people think you did something worthy of praise,” he says.
