Eminem, Lady Gaga performing on Grammys

The recording academy announced the first round of performers for the 53rd edition of the Grammy Awards on Feb. 13. Leading the line-up of talent is 10-time nominee Eminem. Six-time contender Lady Gaga is expected to debut her new single “Born This Way.” And four-time nominee Cee Lo Green is also slated to perform, perhaps the sanitized version of Best Record and Song nominee “F**k You.”

Also scheduled to appear are Album of the Year finalist Katy Perry (“Teenage Dreams”), Best New Artist contenders Arcade Fire, and country queen Miranda Lambert. One name missing is Britney Spears, who was rumored to be readying a new song.

While these top music kudos bestow more than 100 awards, only a handful are handed out during the live CBS show. Instead, marquee acts are asked to perform, making the Grammys the most entertaining of all the major awardcasts. Lady Gaga opened last year’s show with an electrifying six-minute set that saw her sing “Poker Face” before duetting with Elton John on her hit “Speechless” and his classic “Your Song.”
