James Franco turns to Judd Apatow for Oscars hosting advice

James Franco is gearing up to host the Oscars next Sunday and seems to have been seeking advice from all quarters. In this Funny or Die clip, he Skypes with writer/director Judd Apatow who gave him his big break with “Freaks and Geeks” back in 1999.

Apatow, who hosted the Producers Guild of America kudos last month, counsels Franco to make off-color jokes about the movies in contention. However, Franco is fearful that the Oscars crowd might not be accepting of such graphic humor so he asks Apatow to pass along his material that worked at the PGA awards.
