‘Moneyball,’ ‘The Tree of Life’ among first batch of Oscar screeners

Nineteen films have been sent to Oscar voters since “The Music Never Stopped” arrived in mailboxes on Sept. 3. Being early out of the gate worked last year for “Animal Kingdom” (Sept. 28) and “Winter’s Bone” (Oct. 22) which both reaped bids. Last year’s Best Picture winner “The King’s Speech” was sent out on Dec. 15.
