Pete Hammond leads Oscars pundits predictions with 19 of 24 correct

Over the past several months, Gold Derby has been polling top awards experts for their predictions in all 24 categories at this year’s Oscars. Twenty-eight men and women heeded our call, but only one man stands victorious as the clear winner: Pete Hammond of Deadline Hollywood!

Big congratulations to Hammond, who led with 19 correct bids out of a total of 24. Hammond’s victory was thanks to his excellent predictions in many of the technical categories.  Of the six major races for picture, director and acting, Hammond actually missed both Tom Hooper (“The King’s Speech”) for Best Director and Natalie Portman (“Black Swan”) for Best Actress. He went with second-place favorites David Fincher (“The Social Network”) and Annette Bening (“The Kids Are All Right”).

Below is the final tally for all of Gold Derby’s experts. For all of their individual predictions, click here. And to read Gold Derby’s live blog of the Oscars ceremony, click here.
