“Glee” is getting a big honor from the folks who hand out the Emmy Awards. On April 9, the creative types behind “Glee” — Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan — will be front and center at the TV academy foundations’s 32nd annual College Television Awards. The “Glee” team are being touted for tackling tough social issues on the hit Fox series.
Also being recognized at these kudos is the Entertainment Industry Foundation, a leader in turning the philanthropic efforts of Hollywood leaders into effective social awareness campaigns. EIF exec Lisa Paulson will accept this award during the event at the Renaissance Hotel at Hollywood and Highland.
In making the announcement, Norma Provencio Pichardo, foundation executive director, said, “This group of honorees uses the medium of television to raise awareness about major social issues in a responsible, impactful way that inspires and motivates change. We are proud to highlight their important work at the College Television Awards, in front of an audience made up of the next generation of television professionals and today’s industry leaders.”
