Brad Paisley has won Best Male Vocalist for the last five years and has won 14 ACM Awards total. This year, he is also nominated for Entertainer of the Year and has two nominations for Vocal Event.

Kenny Chesney won Entertainer of the Year four times from 2004 to 2007, but he has not won this category since 2002. He has six total nominations this year, including Entertainer of the Year, Album of the Year (“Hemingway’s Whiskey”), and Record of the Year (“You and Tequila”).

Jason Aldean‘s only previous ACM victory was New Male Vocalist in 2005. This year he has six total nominations, including bids for Album of the Year (“My Kinda Party”), Record of the Year (‘Don’t You Wanna Stay’ with Kelly Clarkson) and Entertainer of the Year.

Blake Shelton‘s only previous ACM win was for Vocal Event in 2009 for “Hillbilly Bone,” his duet with Trace Adkins. In addition to his two nominations this year, Shelton is hosting the ACM Awards for the second time, with Reba McEntire.

Chris Young is the only nominee in this category who isn’t also nominated for Entertainer of the Year. The 26-year-old singer has yet to win an ACM Award. He is also nominated for Record of the Year for “Tomorrrow.”
