‘Breaking Bad’ has best chance of beating ‘Mad Men’ for Drama Series Emmy [Poll results]

While “Mad Men” looks like a lock to claim Drama Series for a record fifth year in a row at the Emmys, these kudos have been known to surprise us sometimes. When asked which of the five rival nominees had the best chance of beating this laffer for the top award, our Users responded in the hundreds. Topping their list of potential upsets is “Breaking Bad.” This AMC dark drama starring three-time acting champ Bryan Cranston reaped drew 53% of the vote. 

In second place with the support of 29% of our Users is PBS’ Brit hit “Downton Abbey.” This period piece won Best Movie/Miniseries last year for its first season. 

Showtime’s freshman hit “Homeland,” which won the Golden Globe, is the pick of 14% of our Users to upset the frontrunner.

HBO’s two entries in the race — “Game of Thrones” and “Boardwalk Empire” — polled at just 2% and 1% respectively.
