See how you did predicting CMA Awards

Almost 200 Gold Derby readers predicted the winners in the 11 races at the CMA Awards. In total, our Users logged almost 19,000 predictions. To see how you fared, log in to your account and under your profile picture click on CMA Awards 2012

The 46th annual edition of these kudos was full of surprises (read full report here). Only two of the 11 awards went to the frontrunners: Male Vocalist (Blake Shelton) and Song of the Year (“Over You,” written by Shelton and wife Miranda Lambert)

Not surprisingly, our Users and Editors did not fare that well when making predictions.

Only eight of our Users foresaw Little Big Town beating reigning five-time champs Lady Antebellum for Vocal Group while just 11 forecast a win for Thompson Square against three-time victors Sugarland in Vocal Duo. And an even dozen predicted that win for Album of the Year by Eric Church for “Chief.”

Three Users — DaroRomeroCabrera, JasonVolette and volcomduke — scored 55% while five — cinematoe21, Max, dwb585, RitchieHuntley and scuterjoe — earned 46%.

Our top Editor was Daniel Montgomery at 46%. David Schnelwar scored 37%, Chris BeachumMarcus Dixon and Darrin Dortch were at 28% while Matt Noble had 19% and Rob Licuria got 10%.
