Three of our Experts expect another British actor, Idris Elba, to win this race for the second series of BBC America’s “Luther,” in which he plays a London police detective who solves serial killings. Elba contended for this role last year.
One Expert and Editor each predict a win for 1989 Supporting Comedy Actor champ Woody Harrelson (“Cheers”) who portrayed politico Steve Schmidt in “Game Change,” another HBO marquee project.
And one of our Editors is backing the bid by Bill Nighy as a veteran MI5 officer forced out of his job when investigating the death of his boss in PBS’s “Page Eight.”
While none of our Experts or Editors favor their chances, a number of Users are predicting a win for either Kevin Costner (“Hatfields and McCoys“) or Benedict Cumberbatch (“Sherlock: Scandal in Belgravia“).
