In the HBO biopic, the four-time Oscar nominee portrayed 2008 Republican presidential nominee John McCain

David Strathairn won this race in 2010 for “Temple Grandin” and one Expert and two Editors expect him to take home a bookend for his work in “Hemingway and Gellhorn.”

Three British actors are expected to contend in this category for appearances in PBS fare and each has support from some of our Users.

Michael Gambon plays an MI-5 agent and Ralph Fiennes plays the secretive prime minister in the spy drama “Page Eight.”

And Martin Freeman is the dutiful Doctor Watson, companion to Sherlock Holmes, in the updated “Sherlock: Scandal in Belgravia.”

The final nominee is expected to be Powers Boothe for his portrayal of patriarch Valentine Hatfield in “Hatfields and McCoys.” Boothe won Best Movie/Mini Actor in 1980 for “Guyana Tragedy: The Story of Jim Jones.”
