Danes, who won the Emmy for Best Movie/Mini Actress two years ago for “Temple Grandin,” plays a  CIA agent in her first regular TV gig in two decades.

In second place is reigning champ Julianna Margulies for her role as a legal eagle on “The Good Wife.” She has the backing of one of our Editors.

Who Will Win Best Drama Actress?

Forecast all races. Compete against experts!

One Editor expects two-time champ Glenn Close to prevail yet again for her role as manipulative maven Patty Hewes on “Damages.”

While Elisabeth Moss is expected to contend again for AMC’s “Mad Men” none of our Experts or Editors predict her to prevail.

Also forecast to have to be content with her nominee status is Elizabeth McGovern for the re-classified “Downton Abbey.” Last year, she was nominated for Best Movie/Mini Actress, losing that race to Kate Winslet (“Mildred Pierce”).

Also predicted to be an Emmy bridesmaid this year is 2003 Comedy Actress champ Debra Messing (“Will & Grace”) who headlines the new NBC drama “Smash.”
