Leading the way is AMC’s reigning four-time champ “Mad Men” with the freshman Showtime series “Homeland” battling the returning “Breaking Bad” for second place.

Last year’s Movie/Miniseries winner “Downton Abbey” is now contending in this category and this PBS series is in the middle of the pack according to our predictions.

HBO has a pair of sophomore series in contention, both of which were nominated last year — the period drama “Boardwalk Empire” and the fantasy “Game of Thrones.”
