Though the Golden Globe nominees for film are often a reliable predictor of the Oscars, the Globe nominees and winners for TV do not always echo the tastes of the Primetime Emmys; the Globes, handed out by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) often favor new shows and move on more quickly when a program falls out of favor.

The Golden Globe nominees can be so unpredictable that two candidates were missing from our prediction center altogether: TV Supporting Actor nominee Danny Huston (“Magic City“), and TV Supporting Actress nominee Hayden Panettiere (“Nashville“), whom we entered as a candidate in the lead race.

Despite the changing moods of the HFPA, our top User, AmberKnieriem, score 81%. Following close behind were xander1 and tannerc, both of whom correctly predicted 80%.

They outscored our editors, among whom Daniel Montgomery led the way with 77%, followed by Matt Noble with 73% and Darrin Dortch with 71%.

Three experts predicted the event, with Matt Atchity (Rotten Tomatoes) coming out on top with 71%. Gold Derby’s own Paul Sheehan scored 67%, while Tom O’Neil predicted nine out of 11 categories and scored 71%.
