Disney announces the release date for Steven Spielberg‘s “Lincoln“: “Steven Spielberg’s ‘Lincoln’ is one of 2012’s most anticipated Oscar movies — and now it has an actual calendar position. Disney announced that ‘Lincoln’ will arrive in theaters in limited release on Nov. 9 with an expanded nationwide rollout to follow on Nov. 16. For those following the development process of Spielberg’s epic about Abraham Lincoln (in this film, the 16th president doesn’t hunt vampires), the news isn’t all that surprising. Back in September of 2011, Spielberg said that he didn’t want ‘Lincoln’ to ‘become political fodder’ during the presidential election. Who could play Hugh Hefner in his biopic? “After several jump-starts from different filmmakers, Brett Ratner included, it looks as though Hugh Hefner is finally getting a biopic. Produced by Jerry Weintraub at Warner Bros., the still-untitled project has reportedly gotten a jolt of Oscar credibility thanks to Academy Award–nominated screenwriter Peter Morgan (‘The Queen,’ ‘Frost/Nixon’), who is in negotiations to pen the script after meeting with the Playboy founder yesterday … But whom would we seek out for an exciting, sexy, and potentially Oscar-bait-y performance? If we’re looking for a young Hef, a lanky Andrew Garfield could fit the bill with the right pipe, smoking jacket, and mid-century mannerisms.
