Four-time Emmy nominee Lena Dunham speculates about Emmy’s affection for her: “I think, you know, it’s hard for me to know, but I think the honest story from a female perspective is not something that’s constant in our industry. People responded to that. We’re also really committed to a certain independent style of filmmaking that doesn’t really scream television. So I hope that’s what people responded to. There’s a level of honesty — both in the sexuality and emotionality of the show — that’s my hope. Either that or the fact that I showed my boobs so much that they had to nominated me.” EW.COM
After disappointing album sales, Leona Lewis turns to Adele‘s producer: “As Leona Lewis gazed at her TV and saw Adele scooping her six Grammys, while standing beside a tall, good-looking chap, she thought to herself: ‘I want someone like you.’ And now she has him. Following relatively disappointing sales of her last album, the ‘X Factor’ winner has poached Adele’s fave producer, Fraser T. Smith, for her make-or-break third album. Taking no chances, the determined star, 27, has also jettisoned half her former team, too.” THE MIRROR

Disney announces the release date for Steven Spielberg‘s “Lincoln“: “Steven Spielberg’s ‘Lincoln’ is one of 2012’s most anticipated Oscar movies — and now it has an actual calendar position. Disney announced that ‘Lincoln’ will arrive in theaters in limited release on Nov. 9 with an expanded nationwide rollout to follow on Nov. 16. For those following the development process of Spielberg’s epic about Abraham Lincoln (in this film, the 16th president doesn’t hunt vampires), the news isn’t all that surprising. Back in September of 2011, Spielberg said that he didn’t want ‘Lincoln’ to ‘become political fodder’ during the presidential election. As such, ‘Lincoln’ will arrive three days after the election.” HUFFINGTON POST
Who could play Hugh Hefner in his biopic? “After several jump-starts from different filmmakers, Brett Ratner included, it looks as though Hugh Hefner is finally getting a biopic. Produced by Jerry Weintraub at Warner Bros., the still-untitled project has reportedly gotten a jolt of Oscar credibility thanks to Academy Award–nominated screenwriter Peter Morgan (‘The Queen,’ ‘Frost/Nixon’), who is in negotiations to pen the script after meeting with the Playboy founder yesterday … But whom would we seek out for an exciting, sexy, and potentially Oscar-bait-y performance? If we’re looking for a young Hef, a lanky Andrew Garfield could fit the bill with the right pipe, smoking jacket, and mid-century mannerisms. Based on the square jaw, smirk, and charm, we could also see David Duchovny, Christian Bale, or Michael Fassbender playing a more mature Hef.” VANITY FAIR
