‘Breaking Bad’ leads with 6 Saturn Awards TV nominations

Breaking Bad” leads with six nominations on the TV side of the 38th annual Saturn Awards (See film report here). 

Right behind with five bids is “American Horror Story.” Both of them contend for Best Cable/Syndicated Series against “The Closer” (2 noms); “Dexter” (4); “Leverage” (4) and “True Blood.” (See full list of nominations here

Best Network Series nominees are: “Fringe” (4 noms); “A Gifted Man”; “Grimm”; “Once Upon a Time” (4); “Supernatural” and “Terra Nova.”


Game of Thrones” has four bids including one for Best Presentation (10 Episodes or Less). It contends for that prize against “Camelot”; “Falling Skies” (2 noms); “The Killing” (4); “Torchwood: Miracle Day” (4); “Trek Nation” and “The Walking Dead” (2)

Members of the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror decided both nominees and the winners who will be revealed on June 20.  

Begun in 1972 to honor often overlooked films, the organization has extended its reach in recent years, adding TV awards in 1989 as well as that expanded category of action/adventure/thriller films in 1994 and DVD releases in 2003.
