Who can beat Mumford & Sons and Bon Iver at the Grammys?

Frontrunner: Mumford And Sons – “The Cave
Spoiler: Foo Fighters – “Walk”

Mumford and Sons are nominated for Record of the Year and Song of the Year for their hit song “The Cave.” The Foo Fighters are nominated for Album of the Year and have six nominations this year which is more than the other five nominees. The Foo Fighters won over Mumford and Sons at the 2011 MTV Video Awards and American Music Awards. Could the Foo Fighters win the trifecta of music awards in one year? Or could the Grammys award the upcoming band over the veteran band for the third year in a row. The past three years up-and-comers Kings of Leon (2008, 2009) and the Black Keys (2010) won this category.

Frontrunner: Bon Iver – “Bon Iver”
Spoiler: “The King Of Limbs” – Radiohead

Bon Iver is the presumed frontrunner because of their three nominations in the General Field.  Radiohead is already a three-time winner, tied with the White Stripes for most victories in the 17-year history of this category. Last year Album of the Year winner Arcade Fire‘s “The Suburbs” unexpectedly lost this race to the Black Keys‘ “Brothers.” They were the first winners of the top prize to lose their genre album category since these were introduced in 1994. This year, there is no Alternative representative in the Album of the Year category. Both the Black Keys and Radiohead contended in the Packaging Field.
