Golden Globes experts: ‘American Hustle’ way ahead to win Best Comedy/Musical Picture

All 13 of our Oscarologists who have made predictions for the Golden Globes back the bid by “American Hustle” for Best Comedy/Musical Picture. That overwhelming support gives the film leading odds of 1 to 10 to take this prize on Jan. 12 at the 71st annual edition of these kudos bestowed by the Hollywood Foreign Press Assn.

None of the other four nominees land in the top spot on the individual rankings of our Experts.

Of this quartet of also-rans, one pair — “Nebraska” and “The Wolf of Wall Street” — have slightly better odds of 50 to 1 than the other because they rank higher on the lists of each Expert.

Both “Her” and “Inside Llewyn Davis” come in at odds of 100 to 1. See the breakdown of odds and rankings in all top races.

Compare these standings to the Oscars where “American Hustle” is ranked third behind both Globe Drama Picture frontrunner “12 Years a Slave” and “Gravity,” that latter film’s chief competition at each of these kudos.
