The Daytime Emmys are notorious for their surprise nominations and omissions, but despite voters’ mercurial mood, one user, NateDoggg, was able to correctly predict 72% of nominees. Another six users predicted with 69% accuracy, outscoring all our experts and editors.

Our top expert was Nelson Branco (Soap Opera Uncensored) with 68% correct. Among his savvy picks, he was one of the few to foresee lead-acting nominations for “The Young and the Restless” stars Michael Muhney and Michelle Stafford. He also wisely bet on bids for their “Y&R” castmates Jeff Branson and Hunter King.

Following close behind Branco was Dan Kroll (Soap Central) with 67%. Gold Derby’s Paul Sheehan and Jamey Giddens (Daytime Confidential) both scored 66%.

Roger Newcomb (We Love Soaps) correctly picked 63% of nominees, and Gold Derby’s Tom O’Neil scored 61%.

Among our editors, Darrin Dortch was the best predictor with 63%. Daniel Montgomery predicted 61%, and Chris Beachum scored 58%.
