Uh, oh: Co-stars clash in battle for Emmy nominations [Gallery]

Two years ago, Jim Parsons won his first Emmy for his work on “The Big Bang Theory.” Among those he edged out for the Comedy Actor award was his co-star Johnny Galecki. Last year, Parsons returned to the race but Galecki did not reap a repeat bid.

They are among two dozen co-stars competing against each other for recognition from the Emmys this year.

Among those leads still looking for their first Emmy nominations are: LL Cool J and Chris O’Donnell (“NCIS: Los Angeles“), Sasha Alexander and Angie Harmon (“Rizzoli and Isles”), Patrick J. Adams and Gabriel Macht (“Suits“), Beth Behrs and Kat Dennings (“2 Broke Girls“), and Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley (“The Vampire Diaries“).

From freshman shows, the contenders include Justin Bartha and Andrew Rannells (“The New Normal“), Michael Chiklis and Dennis Quaid (“Vegas“), and Gabriel Byrne and Travis Fimmel (“Vikings“).

And in the movie/mini categories, keep an eye on possible nods for Matt Damon and Michael Douglas (“Behind the Candelabra“), Angela Bassett and Mary J. Blige (“Betty and Coretta“), and Brenda Blethyn and Hilary Swank (“Mary and Martha“).
