‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘Game of Thrones’ lead Emmy Dream Ballots

Breaking Bad” and “Game of Thrones” are in second and third place behind “Homeland” when you ask Gold Derby users to predict which TV show will win the Emmy for Best Drama Series.

But that ranking changes drastically when you ask them what program should win. “Breaking Bad” is our reader’s top choice, followed by “Game of Thrones,” then “Homeland.”

Results are vastly different, too, in other categories.

See our users’ predictions charts here. Contrast those rankings to new ones here resulting from the functionality we just created to invite users to give us their Emmy Dream Ballots.

Modern Family” is way out in front in the race for Best Comedy Series, according to our users’ predictions, but it only lands in fifth place when users are asked which TV show should win. “Parks and Recreations,” which wasn’t even nominated last year, is in the top position on the Dream Ballot, followed by “30 Rock,” “Arrested Development” and “Louie.”
