Will ‘Modern Family’ win 4th consecutive Comedy Series Emmy race?

Modern Family” has won Best Comedy Series at the Emmys for each of its first three seasons. And it looks like it will take home this top prize for a fourth year in a row.

This ABC laffer about three generations of a dysfuncitonal clan has the backing of five of our seven editors as well 75% of our users. That gives it leading odds of 9/4.

One of our editors and 20% of users expect “Girls” to win for its sophomore season. That support translate into odds of 10/3. This HBO hit from multi-hyphenate Lena Dunham contended last year as well.

Also likely to return to the race this September are three-time champ “30 Rock” for its farewell season and ratings powerhouse “The Big Bang Theory” which has yet to take this top prize. They have odds of 6/1 and 9/1 respectively.

The return of “Arrested Development” on Netflix has one of our editors and 5% of users expecting it to finally pick up a bookend to its 2004 win. Those votes equal odds of 9/1. 

Our odds predict that “Veep” will not return to this race for its sophomore season. Rather, “Louie,” is expected to land the sixth slot. It has odds of 16/1.
