Neil Patrick Harris to host Emmy Awards for second time

It comes as no surprise that CBS tapped Neil Patrick Harris to host the Emmys. After all, he emceed these kudos the last time they were on the Tiffany net back in 2009.

Harris reaped great reviews for that show and has become the go-to guy for hosting awardcasts on CBS. Indeed, he is teed up to emcee the Tonys on his home network for the fourth time next month.

When we polled you for your top choice among the CBS stable of stars to host the Emmys, Harris tied for first with “Mike and Molly” leading lady Melissa McCarthy.

While the Emmys rotate among the four broacast nets, CBS has locked in the Tonys till 2018 so Harris could end up topping Angela Lansbury‘s record five turns as Tonys host.

To get his chance at emceeing the Oscars, he will need to land an ABC show after “How I Met Your Mother” wraps next year. The alphabet net has inked a deal to air the Academy Awards till 2020.
