Oscars Experts: ’12 Years a Slave’ solidifies lead in Best Picture race

After dominating Monday’s nominations for the Critics’ Choice Awards and doing well with both the Golden Globes and SAG Awards last week, “12 Years a Slave” has solidified its lead in the Oscar race for Best Picture, according to the latest predictions of the Experts polled by Gold Derby.

Seventeen Experts now predict “12 Years” will prevail while LA critics pick “Gravity” and NYFCC champ “American Hustle” each have the support of four Experts. “Saving Mr. Banks” and “The Wolf of Wall Street” both have a single Expert in their corner. 

Further down the list, “Her” — which shared Best Picture with “Gravity” at  LAFCA — makes it onto our top 10.
