SAG Award voters get DVD of ’12 Years a Slave’

Even though SAG Award voters previously received emails with intructions on how to download “12 Years a Slave” and “Enough Said” on iTunes, they also got a DVD screener of “12 Years a Slave” in the mail yesterday and today.

Late last week, they got a screener of “Captain Phillips” and a campaign rep for Sony Pictures says that they’ll soon get one for “American Hustle,” too. Earlier they had received DVDs of “Dallas Buyers Club” and “Blue Jasmine.

Back on Dec. 18, they got emails with instructions on how to download digital screeners on iTunes for “The Butler,” “August: Osage County” and “Philomena.” A week or two ago Paramount emailed voters with instructions on how guild voters can watch “Nebraska” on line using its own internal studio system. Universal has no plans to ship “Rush,” according to an inside source. No word yet on whether Warner Bros. is shipping “Gravity.”

Ballots are due by Friday, Jan. 17 — that’s one day before the awards ceremony on Saturday.
