SAG voters get DVD screener of ‘Captain Phillips’

All 125,000 voters for the Screen Actors Guild Awards received a DVD of “Captain Phillips” late last week and a campaign rep for Sony Pictures says that they’ll soon get one for “American Hustle,” too.

Those are the third and fourth screeners sent to members after “Dallas Buyers Club” and “Blue Jasmine” arrived earlier.

Back on Dec. 18, they got emails with instructions on how to download digital screeners on iTunes for contenders from Fox Searchlight and Weinstein Co.: “12 Years a Slave,” “Enough Said.” “The Butler,” “August: Osage County” and “Philomena.” A week or two ago Paramount emailed voters with instructions on how guild voters can watch “Nebraska” on line using its own internal studio system.

We’ll keep you posted on other films being made easily accessible to voters.
