Can Taylor Swift stop Miranda Lambert from repeating at CMA Awards?

Miranda Lambert has taken home Best Female Vocalist at the CMA Awards for the past three years running. And it looks like she will make it four in a row with leading odds of 2 to 3.

If she prevails on Nov. 6, she will match the record of Reba McEntire who won four straight beginning in 1984. The only other four-time champ is Martina McBride who won in 1992 and then from 2002 to 2004.

However, newcomer Kacey Musgraves could play spoiler. She has the most solo bids of any artist this year with six and has odds of 9 to 2 in this race.

Three-time champ Carrie Underwood (2006 – 2008) has odds of 15 to 2 to win for the fourth time.

Two-time Entertainer of the Year Taylor Swift has taken this prize just once — back in 2009. She is a longshot to claim a bookend with odds of just 16 to 1.

Likewise for Kelly Clarkson who contends for the second year running and also has odds of 16 to 1.

The 47th annual CMA Awards will be handed out in Nashville with the kudocast airing live on ABC. Co-hosting for the sixth year in a row are Brad Paisley and Underwood.

The CMA Awards are decided by the 11,000 members of the Country Music Assn., which was established in 1958 and is the oldest trade organization created to promote an individual genre of music. The CMA is made up of industry professionals, which means winners are determined by the artists’ country music peers.
