‘Twilight’ leads wave one of Teen Choice Awards nominations

The final installment in the “Twilight” franchise — “Breaking Dawn: Part 2” — reaped a leading seven bids in the first wave of nominations for the Teen Choice Awards. (See full list of nominees here.)

Les Miserables” landed six nominations including a bid by Oscar champ Anne Hathaway. And last year’s Best Picture winner “Argo” picked up two nods, including an acting one for helmer Ben Affleck

One of this year’s hottest Oscar contenders — “The Great Gatsby” — picked up three bids, including for leading players Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey Mulligan

Other films with multiple nominations include the popcorn pictures “Iron Man 3” (six bids) and “The Dark Knight Rises” (three). 

Among the TV shows up for awards are returning favorites “The Vampire Diaries” (five bids), “Revenge” (four) and the final season of “Gossip Girl” (three). 

Justin Bieber picked up two nods while his sometimes girlfriend Selena Gomez contends for three. 

These kudos fete films, TV shows, music and pop culture with winners chosen by popular vote. The awardscast airs on Fox on Aug. 11.
