Viewing Panel Week #3: Comedy Lead Actor and Comedy Series

Attention all Derbyites: Please watch the episodes submitted to Emmy judges by the nominees for Best Comedy Actor and Best Comedy Series and join our discussion so we can — together — ponder who’s going to win. Time: 4 p.m. PT Friday, August 16. Where: Gold Derby’s home page.

That’s right, we’re doubling up again! These two categories will be the third in our weekly series Gold Derby Viewing Panels, which aim to copy (somewhat) the method used to judge the Emmy races.

Every week until the Emmys on Sept. 22, we’ll come together as a community and collectively watch each of the Emmy nominees’ episode submissions, category by category.

Our editors will conduct a live webcam chat that includes YOUR participation in the chatroom on Gold Derby’s home page. (see previous slugfests here.) Crucial to fully appreciate the discussion is knowledge of the episodes submitted by nominees to the judges as examples of the best work from the past TV season.

Below, the episode titles submitted to Emmy judges by the Comedy Actor nominees. To see all 36 titles for the Comedy Series race, click here.

We are not able to stream the submissions here for copyright reasons, but you can track down most of the nominated episodes at iTunes, Amazon or Hulu. Additionally, the episode for Bateman is on Netflix and the episodes for Cheadle and LeBlanc are at Showtime.

Have fun viewing!

Then reconvene at the end of the week for our live community slugfests. And as always, join the Emmy discussion in our forum.
