First look: Kiefer Sutherland returns in ’24: Live Another Day’

Four years after signing off after eight seasons, the taut drama series “24” returns to Fox on May 5 as a 12-hour miniseries “24: Live Another Day.” Below, a tasty teaser of the all the action to come this summer.

Emmy champ Kiefer Sutherland reprises his role as Jack Bauer, with fan favorite Mary Lynn Rajskub also back as tech wiz Chloe O’Brian. Kim Raver returns as Bauer’s season four and five love interest Audrey Raines. Her father, James Heller (William Devane) is now president and she is married to his chief of staff Mark Boudreau (Tate Donovan). Bauer discovers a plot to kill the president but Boudreau is wary of him and his ways.

“24” contended for Best Drama Series at the Emmys for each of its first five seasons, finally winning on its final try in 2006. Likewise, Sutherland picked up the Drama Actor award that night as well.

This revival will be classified as a miniseries where it will face off against HBO’s powerhouse “True Detective.” While miniseries are back in their own race, the acting categories are still combined with those from telefilms.
