ACM Awards family feud: Blake Shelton vs. Miranda Lambert

What will happen when husband-and-wife country singers Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert go head-to-head for Entertainer of the Year at the ACM Awards?

Possibly nothing, if history is any indication. Though each has won multiple time at these kudos, they’re rarely rivals in the same category. When they have been, both have lost.

This is the third Entertainer nomination for both and the second time they’re nominated against each other. Last year, they both lost to Luke Bryan, who is looking to defend his title this year. Shelton and Lambert also clashed at the Grammys earlier this year, both nominated for Country Solo Performance but losing in an upset to “Wagon Wheel” by Darius Rucker.

At this year’s ACMs, however, our predictions give Shelton the edge: he leads on our racetrack with 8/11 odds, while Lambert ranks last with 50/1 odds.

They also duel for Song of the Year, where Shelton’s “Mine Would Be You” is up against Lambert’s “Mamas Broken Heart.” However, they both trail Gary Allan‘s “Every Storm (Runs Out of Rain)” in that race.

Shelton and Lambert have won when they join forces. They took home both CMA and ACM Awards for co-writing Lambert’s “Over You,” and this year they could win another collaborative prize together: Vocal Event of the Year, where they contend for “Boys Round Here,” Shelton’s song featuring Lambert’s group the Pistol Annies. They’re favored to win there, getting 21/20 odds.
