ACM Awards: Will Taylor Swift wreak revenge against Luke Bryan?

Taylor Swift had won Entertainer of the Year at the ACM Awards two years in a row (2011-2012) before Luke Bryan upset her last year.

Can she stage a comeback and make history in more than one way with a third win?

Unlike other ACM categories, which are determined by the academy, Entertainer of the Year and New Artist of the Year are decided by a popular online vote. So, Swift’s cult following might give her an advantage, but if she does prevail, she would be only the third artist to come back after spending years out of the winner’s circle:

Garth Brooks won from 1991-1994, then returned four years later to win another two in a row (1998-1999).
Brooks & Dunn won from 1996-1997, then picked up a third in 2002.

Swift would also make history another way: as the first woman to win Entertainer of the Year three times. She is currently tied with Carrie Underwood, who won two in a row right before Swift (2009-2010). But according to our odds, history will have to wait. Swift ranks third in our overall predictions with 11/2 odds.

However, it’s not Bryan who has the lead. We currently rank the defending champ second with 4/1 odds. The odds-on favorite to win is Blake Shelton, who gets 8/11 odds. It would be the first win for the “Voice” star.

Do you think Shelton is really the favorite, or will Bryan or Swift mobilize their fanbases once again? Make your predictions below:
