ACM Awards: Murder, mayhem, heartbreak feature in Video of the Year nominees

A murder, a car accident, and several broken hearts make up this year’s Video of the Year nominees at the ACM Awards, but it’s a low-key Kacey Musgraves who leads a labor uprising who has the lead: her “Blowin’ Smokegets 8/11 odds from our predictors.

Close behind are the trio of Tim McGraw, Taylor Swift, and Keith Urban for their collaboration “Highway Don’t Care” (12/5 odds) and Carrie Underwood for “Two Black Cadillacs” (12/1 odds).

Notably, “Highway Don’t Care” won Video of the Year at the CMAs last November, where it beat “Tornado” by Little Big Town, the video that had won last year’s ACM Award.

Farther behind are The Band Perry (“Better Dig Two“) and Lee Brice (“I Drive Your Truck“), both with 50/1 odds.

But we may be underestimating Miranda Lambert (“Mama’s Broken Heart“), who ranks last with 100/1 odds. Not only did “Broken Heart” earn Music Video nominations at the American Country Awards and CMA Awards, Lambert is also a two-time ACM winner for Video of the Year: for “White Liar” (2009) and “The House That Built Me” (2010).
