Sneak peek: Disney’s Animated Feature Oscar contender ‘Big Hero 6’

Last year, Disney won the Animation Feature Oscar for the first time with the huge hit “Frozen.” This year, it has another strong contender in “Big Hero 6.” The film, based on ther Marvel comic of the same name, follows the misadventures of Hiro (Ryan Potter), a young science wiz and his pal, the inflatable robot Baymax (Scott Adsit), in San Fransokyo (think San Francisco meets Tokyo). 

This new trailer also showcases some of the other characters, including his older brother Tadashi (Daniel Henney) who creates the robot and his four friends Fred (T.J. Miller), GoGo Tomago (Jamie Chung),Honey Lemon (Genesis Rodriguez) and Wasabi (Damon Wayans, Jr.).

The creative types will touting the picture at the upcoming Gotham edition of Comic Con prior to its wide release on Nov. 7. While “The Lego Movie currently leads our predictions for Best Animated Feature at the Oscars, this one should do equally boffo box office and will be a strong contender.
