Meryl Davis has been a favorite of judges throughout season 18 of “Dancing With the Stars,” but during Monday’s “Disney Night” her rival James Maslow threw down the gauntlet, achieving a feat even Davis hasn’t accomplished: a perfect score.
Maslow received perfect 10s from all four “DWTS” judges – regular experts Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman, and Bruno Tonioli, as well as guest judge and season nine champ Donny Osmond – for a total of 40 out of 40. He and his pro partner Peta Murgatroyd pulled it off with a contemporary routine set to the Oscar-winning “Let It Go” from “Frozen.”
Davis came close with her previous two dances, scoring 39 for each. In both cases Goodman was the lone holdout, giving her 9s while the rest of the panel gave her 10s. On Disney Night Goodman denied her a 10 once again for her “Jungle Book” samba, but he did bestow perfect scores to Maslow and Charlie White; those were the first perfect scores to come from Goodman all season.
Do you think Maslow and Murgatroyd were really perfection, or were the judges overly generous? Watch below and respond in our poll. Then predict whether Maslow will receive the top score again next week on “Party Anthem Night.”
