Only two more episodes of “Dancing With the Stars” remain before a winner is crowned on May 20. The competition is so stiff that frontrunner Meryl Davis actually finished last on last week’s leaderboard.
While Davis is expected to advance to next week’s finals, James Maslow, however, may not be so lucky.
Maslow is the likeliest star to be eliminated according to our predictions, with 13/10 odds of getting the axe; he has been at risk of elimination when results were announced for the last two weeks in a row.
The next likeliest on the chopping block is Candace Cameron Bure with 17/10 odds. She is the only remaining contestant who has never received a perfect score of 40 out of 40 from judges. The resilient former “Full House” star has been in jeopardy several times this season, but has dodged every bullet thanks to support from fan voters.
Charlie White may also be vulnerable, despite ranking second in last week’s judges’ scores. After weeks of tough criticism, especially from Len Goodman, he finally received that elusive perfect 40 for last week’s quickstep, but he gets 14/1 odds of elimination, as does his Olympic ice dance partner Davis.
Davis and Amy Purdy are the only stars left who have never been in jeopardy, and as last week’s top scorer, Purdy is the least likely to be eliminated with 18/1 odds.
Tonight, the stars will dance twice to songs by American icons and be judged by three-time Emmy-winning director and choreographer Kenny Ortega (“High School Musical”). Will he be lenient or strict with this season’s final five? And who will be voted off on the eve of the finals?
