Drama Desk Awards nominations: ‘Gentleman’s Guide’ leads with 12

Nominations for the 59th annual edition of the Drama Desk Awards were announced Friday. The Broadway tuner “Gentlemans Guide to Love and Murder” leads with 12 bids. It is also expected to do well when the Tony nominations are revealed this coming Tuesday.

Also scoring well were five other Broadway musicals: “Bridges of Madison County” nabbed nine nods, “Aladdin” and “Rocky” each earned seven and both “Beautiful” and “Bullets Over Broadway” claimed six.
