Here’s an exclusive sneak peek at Showtime’s 2014 Emmy campaign

In a Gold Derby exclusive, premium network Showtime has provided their Emmy Awards campaign for 2014 with category placements.

The biggest news was reported here weeks ago: “Shameless” has obtained approval from the TV academy to switch to the comedy categories after competing as a drama for its first three seasons.

The two newcomers this year are “Masters of Sex” and “Ray Donovan,” both of which earned Golden Globe nominations in January. The former contended for Best Drama Series (losing to “Breaking Bad“) and for Best Drama Actor (Michael Sheen). Also nominated for that category was Liev Schreiber, who plays the title character on “Ray Donovan.” Jon Voight, who portrays his father, won the Globe as Best TV Supporting Actor.

Shocking Golden Globes snubs: ‘Homeland,’ ‘The Crazy Ones’

The paycaster’s other shows are returning programs with similar placements as before. At last year’s Emmys, 2012 champ “Homeland” contended for Best Drama Series while Claire Danes repeated as Best Drama Actress. Also reaping bids were Damian Lewis, Morena Baccarin and Mandy Patinkin. Comedy acting nominees were Don Cheadle (“House of Lies“), Edie Falco (“Nurse Jackie“), Matt LeBlanc (“Episodes“), and Merritt Wever (“Nurse Jackie” – another champ that night).
