With the 66th Primetime Emmys only days away, Gold Derby senior editors Marcus James Dixon and Daniel Montgomery battled it out mano-a-mano style in all 26 Emmy categories for your enjoyment. (Watch the slugfest below.)
Sure, there were times when Daniel and I agreed, like in the program races where we declared “Breaking Bad” and “Modern Family” the frontrunners. But we really duked it during the Julia Louis-Dreyfus (“Veep“) vs. Melissa McCarthy (“Mike and Molly“) debate, the Peter Dinklage (“Game of Thrones“) vs. Aaron Paul (“Breaking Bad“) discussion and “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” vs. “Colbert Report” argument.
Our slugfest is split up by categories. We start with all six of the program nominees that’ll be handed out Monday night, followed by the four writing categories, the four directing races, the six supporting acting battles and finally the six lead acting smackdowns. We ended with Drama Lead Actress because that’s the category I attribute most to Daniel’s input thanks to his recent article claiming Julianna Margulies (“The Good Wife“) the winner. Are we both right or both utterly wrong? Be sure to sound off in the comments section below.
After watching us analyze every category, make your picks in our predictions center. If you score the best, you could win $1000 and bragging rights. Start with Best Comedy Actress below.
