Six film categories were available for predictions, and several of them proved to be extremely difficult this year. The winner for Sound Editing Effects Foley (“Gravity“) was easy to pick, as was the choice for Foreign Film (“The Grandmaster,” which tied with “The Past“). After that, though, only a few people saw “Captain Phillips” beating “Gravity” for Sound Editing Dialogue ADR. Even worse, only one User out of 400+ (aviChristiaans) had “Epic” winning for Animation.

Among our Editors, only Daniel Montgomery was at 50% correct. The others — David Schnelwar, Marcus Dixon, Rob Licuria, and myself — only had 34% accurate.

All three Experts making predictions — Tariq Khan (Fox News) and Gold Derby’s Tom O’Neil and Paul Sheehan — were also at 34% correct.

Collectively, the Editors were the best with 37% accurate, followed by the Experts with 33% correct and then our Users with 32%.
