MTV Movie Awards nominations: Oscars snubbed ‘American Hustle,’ ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ lead with 8 each

Two films that were snubbed at Sunday’s Oscars — “American Hustle” and “The Wolf of Wall Street” — each reaped eight bids for this year’s 23rd annual MTV Movie Awards. (See the complete list of nominations here.)

Jennifer Lawrence, who reaped a Supporting Actress Oscar bid for her scene-stealing performance in “American Hustle,” also headlines “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” which earned seven nominations, including a Best Female Performance bid for Lawrence who won this award last year for the first film in this franchise. Lawrence and “American Hustle” co-star Amy Adams vie for Best Kiss. 

“We’re The Millers” reaped six bids, including a Best Shirtless Performance nod for Jennifer Aniston, who played an ex-stripper in this raucous summer comedy.

Oscars Best Picture champ “12 Years a Slave” has four nominations as do “Anchorman 2,” “Dallas Buyers Club,” “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug,” and “This is the End.”

Other categories include perennial puzzlers like Best Kiss, Best Fight and Best Scared-As-S**t Performance.
