‘Orange is the New Black’ stars rule red carpet at Creative Arts Emmys (Exclusive Video)

Orange was the new gold at this year’s Creative Arts Emmys. The freshman Netflix series “Orange is the New Black” won three awards, including Guest Comedy Actress (Uzo Aduba) as well as Casting and Picture Editing.

Prior to the awards, we chatted with Aduba and her co-stars and rival nominees Laverne Cox and Natasha Lyonne on the red carpet. Watch what they had to say, including a “smack-down” between Aduba and Lyonne below.

Aduba looked nothing like her “Orange” character Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren as she walked the red carpet and explained why: “Uzo and only Uzo is here tonight. ‘Crazy Eyes,’ or Suzanne as I call her, she’s put back on that shelf until next week. She’s sitting comfortably and relaxing on vacation.”

As we wrapped our interview with Aduba, Lyonne dropped by. When we asked them if things were always this great between them that’s when the “truth” came out: “No. It’s pretty tense. Also because of the stiff competition between us, so we rehearsed this as an act.”

Cox admitted to being overwhelmed by the red carpet but took it as a reminder to keep following your dreams: “It’s insane! But it feels like what our country should be about, what America should be about. I’d like to believe that if you work hard enough and never give up and are good at what you do that you can have your dreams.”
